Optreden op de Dam bij Feminist March

Lakshmi sloot het programma van de Feminist March op de Dam af met twee nummers.
Het thema van de mars dit jaar was The Future is Feminist. ‘De wereld heeft nu meer dan ooit feministisch leiderschap nodig. In het licht van groeiende ongelijkheid, sociale onrechtvaardigheid en wereldwijde uitdagingen is het nu tijd voor actie,’ schrijven de organisatoren. ‘De toekomst is feministisch door onze stemmen, onze acties en onze niet aflatende toewijding.’

Lakshmi zelf over de dag:
”The Feminist March was powerful, magical, and deeply moving. I’m truly honored to have been invited and to stand among the most dedicated activists—you inspire me.
Because of people like you, and everyone who was here today, we can live in a freedom that so many others in this world don’t have.
But we don’t take this freedom for granted. We must stay vigilant, for ourselves and for each other, in a world where human rights are constantly under threat. We showed up with more than FIFTEEN THOUSAND people and it gives me hope, thank you🩷”
